A chat box?

I suggest a chat box. (a xat one. there really good). If you want to see an example of a xat chatbox, go to this site.

And go to the bottom. It should be there.

It does. I know how. (I use forumotion aswell)

If I did it right the chat box will appear at the buttom of the main page

No, that is the default chat box for this forum creator. (it sucks). I suggest getting one from xat.com and make a new category, and for the decription put the HTML code for the chatbox into it. If you need futher explanation, please notify me.

You don't add it to the portal, you add it to the forum. Make a new category and for the description of the category, put the code for the chatbox. (one from xat.com)

Step 1- Go to xat.com and click make a chat box.
or go to http://www.xat.com/web_gear/chat.php

Step 2- choose a bg pic for the chatbox, and how big you want the chatbox (I recommend medium).

Step 3- Once done, click a button that looks like this (see pic)

Step 4- Copy the code that comes up.

Step 5- Go to your forum and go to the admin panel. Next, create a new section to the forum (they call it a new forum).

Step 6- Paste the code here (see pic)

Step 7- Now just save and wa la! If there is any problem, just tell me.
